Gaming Malta, iGEN launch effort to boost Maltese iGaming employment

If the prospect of living and working on a Mediterranean island sounds enticing, it might be a good time now to make the leap. A new project is underway for those in the gambling industry to draw recruits to Malta's online Gaming market, initiated by a collaboration between gaming Malta and the iGaming trade organization of Europe, iGEN. The initiative "why iGaming" directly addresses the iGaming space and seeks to add top talent to the rapidly growing operations of iGaming in Malta.

iGEN has 22 member companies from around Europe and will collaborate with the Malta government and the gaming Malta non-profit community to encourage job opportunities in the local marketplace. To this end, the partnership has also contributed to the development of a website, www.whyigaming.eu, which is undertaking several global campaigns to publicize job opportunities and the rewards of working in Malta. The tiny island of 475,000 people is situated about 62 miles south of Pozzallo, Sicily, and promises some beautiful beaches and scenery that should be appealing to a variety of candidates.

Gaming Malta Chief Operating Officer Ivan Filletti says of the new project, "this platform is in line with our goal to place Malta as the Home of Excellence in the Gaming Industry. A house where talent triumphs and prospers. An atmosphere for the industry and igaming that encourages inclusion and diversity in their work culture. Why igaming can act as a real-time platform for the company and the interesting possibilities it provides."

Overall, the igaming market in Malta pays better pay than business workers would expect elsewhere; nevertheless, several aspiring talents have not been eager to pursue opportunities because of misdirected worries about being able to function there. Nevertheless, according to local figures, Malta now has 7,000 full-time workers employed in the iGaming industry and a additional 4,000 in supporting positions. More than 100 open vacancies are currently listed on the platform, covering everything from back-end tech support to reporters to executive roles.

Adds Enrico Bradamante, the chairman of iGEN, "Malta remains an incredibly significant center for igaming. Our mission is to provide a means for the largest and most well-established igaming businesses to communicate with the local community and talent, in particular by offering a forum for individuals interested in working in the field."

"Professionals will use our website to find out about our employees, check for open positions and learn the truth about what it's like to work in the industry from a variety of different outlets.

"This is not only to help fill existing positions such as entry-level jobs, customer service, finance roles and other administrative and executive functions, but also to continuously track potential openings as the platform expands."
