GVC Appoints Online Gambling Addiction Specialist
GVC hires the expertise of Dr. Mark Griffiths, a behavioral psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, to guide the responsible gambling activities of the business.
Dr. Mark Griffiths Specializes In Gambling Addiction
The stance of GVC Holdings on responsible gambling and customer safety has only changed, with the company now investing in a new online game addiction specialist to help improve this vital approach.
GVC has created the so-called Sustainability Charter, which would aim to guarantee the welfare of all players interested with gaming, to help secure greater consumer protection for the long term.
The company, newly renamed Entain on November 12, is tapping Dr Mark Griffiths for the online addiction specialist post.
A professor of behavioral addiction and psychology at Nottingham Trent University, he is able to provide useful insight into how gambling functions and what facets of GVC's gaming culture can be tackled in order to provide greater safety for users.
As such, Griffiths will work closely with GVC and review its existing strategies and processes for ensuring safe gaming. He would need to come up with a solution that will allow the organization to develop its current processes and focus on science research to do so.
Griffiths has been researching online behavior and addiction for 30 years, and that should be adequate to allow him to fine-tune the current regulatory system.
‘Advanced Responsibility & Care’
Griffiths will be tasked with a primary role to ensure that the ‘Advanced Responsibility & Care’ plan achieves planned objectives. This program is intended to create a theoretical analysis of the actions of the individual players and to provide scientifically driven remedies.
The chance still seems strong enough for Griffiths who will tap into Entain's pool of more than 160 million players and use it to exploit unparalleled scale science exploration.
The company also announced that it would exit from the miniscule market share of unregulated markets when GVC changed its corporate name to Entain, concentrating solely on legal markets instead.
Griffiths was delighted to hear the news that he would step up to support GVC's player safety program by adding:
“I’m delighted to be joining GVC at this time because it gives me an unprecedented opportunity to help deliver innovative technological advances supported by evidential scientific research to improve player protection.”
The addition of Griffith comes at a moment when Entain is ready to position itself as a leading consumer security gaming company. The business has partnered up with mindful gaming in the U.S. And signed up for the PlayPause project offered by a joint partnership with MGM Resorts International, called BetMGM.
GVC has formed related agreements with Future Anthem and Mindway AI to maximize the use of artificial intelligence to improve customer security. One of the core priorities was the company's Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC), and Griffiths' appointment is a benefit.
