Ukraine Hires Current Gambling Commission Executives
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has announced leadership team names for the proposed gambling and lottery board. Once the team members are formally certified and the government lays down the licensing requirements, the new commission is scheduled to start next year.
Government Officials Appoint a Gambling Commission Management In Ukraine
Earlier this week, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed members of the leadership team that will manage the country's Ukraine Gambling and Lottery Commission (UGLC). UGLC will implement the authorised gambling legislation and the implementation and licensing process is scheduled to begin next year. However, before UGLC launches, the Ukrainian government would need to determine the conditions for licensing. In addition, each appointed member of the leadership team will have to perform a series of examinations, but precise specifics have yet to be revealed to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Until all leadership applicants are officially accepted by the government of Ukraine, a further 230 members will be appointed as a next move. Those members are expected to support UGLC activities in all of Ukraine's provinces. In addition, six regional directors will be named directly to report to UGLC headquarters in Kyiv.
Oleg Nemchinov, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers previously announced that Ivan Rudyi would be the Director-General of UGLC. As a former member of the Ukrainian Special Forces, he has vast expertise in international policy, criminal justice, law and information technology.
Other Members To Join UGLC
The UGLC also follows Yevhen Hetman, who is a former NATO delegate with extensive foreign affairs experience. Olena Vodolazhko is a further member of UGLC's executive leadership committee. Vodolazhko is also a member of the top Ukrainian Lawyer Association team, in addition to being a lawyer.
Tetyana Kiriyenko joins the UGLC, as well. Her history covers positions in politics, economics and home relations. Yuriy Kravchenko is another member of the management committee of the regulatory body. He has IT and law experience, and is also a member of the Game Development Club.
Ensuring that the recently created UGLC performs proper operators supervision, licensing and oversight will be monitored by an outside body under the country's gambling legislation.
