Slot Description

This is a super whimsical niche game for sweets and candies theme lovers. As many releases of the same theme Dropz maths is not quite straight: the game feels like not biting off your money balance but after some 25 spins you'd inevitably see you've slots of some €30. It is probably due to the fact the game offers a true action: expanding rows, tumbling (avalanche) symbols as well as a metre panel above the grid will make you watch over the screen like you are in the movie. The game plays long, you'd feel every spin lasts probably twice as long as for example Candy Stars from Pragmatic Play. Plus, the game terms seems complicated: if stripped from the fuss the base game is simple and unrewarding, yet, the game also contains both a level up feature (with a different kind of volatility and payback) as well as Free Dropz bonus game. On top of it there's an accruing multiplier that's dependent on a matching pair of symbols.. And there are also locked wilds too.

Dropz slot gameplay

The meter panel will make you stick to the screen like glue for a while: the matching symbol pairs add to the Pair Matching meter. When full, the awarding multiplier is added to the Win Multiplier. Adjacent to the Pair Matching, there's a bonus (B letters) collecting screen. Collecting 3 bonus symbols triggers the Free Dropz bonus game. 8 rows and 5 dropz are awarded. Any win multiplier reached in the base game is brought into the bonus game.

The look of the game is sweet. It absolutely sticks to the theme and makes a decent antourage to the category leaders like Sweet Alchemy, Sweet Bonanza, Reel Rush 2  in terms of design. The square form grid is somewhat unusual to meet. The music consists of 2 fragments: disco rhythm and a mystery sound from, arguably, another slot machine. I don't get the idea of how a transition is made between these two fragments though. Overall, the game feels complicated and not made with UX in mind. The gameplay is messy and such that would suffice for 2 distinct slot machines instead of one. It left me with a feeling I don't get the game. And an idea to try more. Well, after another 25 spins nothing has changed: the game is not made to perfection and feels strange to me.

Rags to the Witches Features

It is a 6x6 grid game that's advertised as having 25,000 win potential. It feels quite volatile to me though Elk says it has a volatility of 7 of 10. Possibly, it's because of a relatively low RTP. The RTP is 94%, which is quite low. Possibly, it is made for the German and the UK market in mind too. The level up feature activates new levels with more rows (and paylines) to play with. The bonus game has 8 rows and 5 redrops.

Prediction of the slot's popularity and industry acclaim

I predict the game is going to receive some good reviews from serious iGaming publications for being something new at least. There are not so many original slot machines in today's industry, that's simply why. In my opinion, there will not be many reviews whatsoever: up to 8 reviews in 1-2 month after the debut. Yet, we can already see that, for example, bigwinboard.com points in the direction of the game's strange maths too:

... numerically speaking, Dropz is a game of two halves. A Jekyll and Hyde, if you will. On the positive side is the massive 25,000x the bet max win; on the Hyde side is the 94% RTP which some may find a little hard to stomach.

They also would note that the Dropz slot has ended up being quite a unique game, but regret that "Its 94% top value is another example of ELK's downward trajectory".

online-slot.co.uk also emphasises the game looks complicated at a first glance.

"The big downside is the low RTP of 94%. It’s nowhere near close to any of the better slots on the market with a similar theme. However, the 25,000 x max win potential makes up for it a little."

Dropz Reviews

We anticipate that casinogamesonnet.com, casinohawks, casinowhizz as well as aboutslots will give the most praiseful reviews to Dropz slot release. We alrerady see that bigwinboard.com rates this release as 7.5 while online-slot.co.uk gave them 7.8
