Slot Description

NextGen Gaming's slots machine Psycho has 5 reels and 25 paylines. The gaming title was inspired by the renowned horror movie by the great Alfred Hitchcock, produced in 1960. The video slot was created in collaboration with Universal Studios. The above-mentioned thriller is regarded as one of the best art pieces that make part of Hitchcock’s heritage and one of the biggest masterpieces.

The scene of the slot takes place in an old-style rural farmhouse on a grassy hillside near the enigmatic Bates Motel, located in the midst of gloomy and frightening farmland where it's rainy and stormy. Players come across  You'll see a shadowy person hiding in the windowsill, scanning the scene and keeping an eye on things.

It is captivating to play Psycho slot in its mystery environment, and dramatic music that truly captures the atmosphere of the legendary movie — you'll note that the major scene is centered around the iconic 'shower' scene. You may wager the slot starting with 25p per spin up to $50.

I was really happy to see a slot based on that movie.

The theme of the game is from the movie and the main action is situated in the Bates motel. This slot has 25 paylines and 5 reels. The graphic and animations are on a solid level and the overall look of the slot is just incredible.

One of the best things I like about this game is the background music. It really is like from the horror movie and every spin is an anticipation of what will land on the reels. The symbols have a descent payout and a combination of 5 for the highest paying brings a win of 1000 x bet line. This game has wild and scatter symbols. The wilds have a strange payout of 1250 x bet line for a combination of 5 on a winning payline.

From the features this game offers only a free spins bonus. A minimum of 3 scatters brings you a reward of 10 free spins. If you manage to get 4 or 5 scatters you are awarded with 15 or 20 free spins respectively. The free spins bonus is very interesting. You can get extra wilds on the reels and random multipliers which can go from 2 up to 40. A really great scene is when the shower curtain is torn to the side and every stab from the knife gives a wild symbol. It may sound gruesome but the more stabs you have the more wilds you win.

I had some great wins on this slot. The last time I played it I won about 30 euros on a minimum bet in the bonus game. I got 3 extra wilds from the stabbing and another one during the spin so 4 wilds on a winning payline in total and a descent multiplier. I don’t recommend this game to the ones with a weak heart.

For these reasons and also for its psychotic design, this slot manufactured by "NextGen" plays fully its role as a game capable of generating entertainment, but I think further this slot also has the ability to generate profits, which it is from my view the main quality gamblers seek in a slot, and I think this company has done well by incorporating special features that add wilds to the base game and to free rounds without reducing the number of paylines in the slot, it is not uncommon to find another branded slots with features responsible for bringing out wild symbols and even many wild reels, but sometimes resorting to reducing the number of lines and others to increase the number of standard symbols or other adjustments that reduce the mathematical probability of granting more and better winnings.

This slot specifically has a set of 5 x 3 reels, 25 lines, 9 standard symbols, a wild symbol and a scatter symbol which is responsible for triggering the free spins round, which gives 10, 15 or 20 free games for the occurrence of 3, 4 or 5 yellow scatters at any position on the reels; normal wilds can incorporate multipliers between 2x and 20x, but during the free round it’s possible that some wild bring a multiplier of 40x, this added to the fact that there is a higher probability of getting more wild symbols during this round than during the base game.

Admittedly, it's always in the possibility of entering into a run of few and small payouts with few scatters to trigger a single round of free spins, but on the other hand you cannot deny that both during the base game or during the free spins there is always the possibility of getting some big wins able to boost our balance enough to think of taking some good dollars to home, so that, it's always good to fund our casino account with a good amount of credits that allow us to survive the droughts.

It's inspired by the old horror movie called Psycho and it is very well known to be one of the best horror movies ever made.

The design is quite interesting and also reminds me of a television show called Bates Motel, that also had Psycho as an inspiration. The slot takes place in and old motel and I think it looks really good.

The game has 5 reels and 25 paylines and as bonus it offers 10 free spins. What I find the most interesting and also rewarding about this slot are the wild symbols. They appear on the slot themselves and also they can be added before the spin. It looks really interesting as a man makes cuts with a knife and in those places the wilds appear. And most importantly the wilds have random value, up to 20x multiplier, so on one spin it may give you 10x multiplied win and on some even 20x. I have had only a few times 20x multiplier and those times I had like one wild symbol and an empty spin, but other than that I think it gives a great opportunity to get a good win.

The games are triggered by 3 scatters and I have to say so far I've experienced that the free spins come up quite often like once every 150 spins, but it doesn't mean that they all have paid well, many times I would get even less than 10x bet winnings. In my last session I started to play this game with only 10€ balance. I then got free spins round and retriggered it, which gave me an extra 10 spins. And even though the spins themselves have no multiplier, the big winnings happen when you get wilds and they are added randomly within the spins, and it looks like just in the base game. The last time I managed to win over 150x bet win twice, which is also my best result so far.

Overall I think this game has the possibility to become one of my favorite Nextgen slots. It has good yet simple design, the wild feature is very interesting and rewarding and I just think this is a good game for wagering with decent winning potential.

e game host the psycho himself, the mansion as scatter and plenty of wilds with decent multipliers to go around with. I must say the animation and the dark scary looks very real.

Now the wilds appear on the reels as normal just like any other game. There is a psycho feature that activates randomly, where the psycho appear on the screen with a knife and stab on the reels creating extra wilds which could lands some extra wins. The wins you generate with wilds has multiplier that can range to any of the following 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x or even 20x

3 or more scatter symbol which comes in form of the mansion which is situated at the back of the motel triggers 10 free spins. During free spins the psycho seems to appear more and create more wilds with a multiplier that is the same in the base game but has an added 40x during free spins mode. The feature can be retriggered as well.

This game is a medium to high variance slot and I tried it a couple of times but mostly had bad runs on it. The biggest multiplier I got was 10x. I never managed to get the free spins feature, I guess the game was running cold on me. Everything else was going smoothly and I enjoyed the game also the fact because of the series. NextGen should have made this game a 243 ways pay slot, as I initially thought it was just that, but I discover it is 25 paylines. I would recommend you give it a try, just don’t play at night LOL. I would rate it 7/10.

God, that lady!!! In it's realistic view through this video slot, I am very impressed by the accuracy produced from the movie! They even recreated the knife stabbing scene through random wilds on a random spin to create potential wins, some leaving behind a random multiplier!

$1.25 bets were surprisingly good upon my plays especially when I took the spotlight of taking away over $200+ from hitting 3 wilds from the Psycho's stabbings and the top lady symbol following it......at first I was going to win a ridiculously small $10 but this happened when I least expected it too! The sign on the right during base game sparked a 20x multiplier soaring my happiness high while this ominously eerie music playing for this terrific big win, counting up my total!!! Nextgen knows what I like!!! The free spins were, above average, creating random wilds within the 10 free spins I had, but they can be better! Random wilds/multipliers on base and much more frequency hits on free spins, leaving me to believe anything can happen in or out of the feature, excellent accuracy and spirit of this video slot and entertainments galore! A 9.5 out of 10!!!

The situation is undoubtedly worse in the console game market but there's certainly been plenty of sloppy efforts in the slot machine market too so I treat all such games with a certain degree of caution and skepticism and I'd certainly be unlikely to spin a movie themed slot with my own money before trying it out in free play mode first.

That being said my experiences with NextGen games though quite limited have always been mainly positive so far. There are only a handful of NextGen slots that I can easily recall playing but so far they have all been at least reasonably good quality and I really enjoy horror films too although Psycho itself isn't one of my favourites in either of it's incarnations. I couldn't help wondering if the iconic shower scene might feature in the game somewhere though!

Everything started off well and I was instantly impressed by the games sound - there's an atmospheric background layer consisting of random sounds and stabs rather than an actual musical score so it doesn't become instantly repetitive like the vast majority of slot machine music and when you begin to spin the reels there's a fantastic array of high pitched notes, crashing thunder, and spooky off-key arpeggios which all mold together beautifully and give this game a genuine "horror" feel.

The graphics are well drawn too, though perhaps not as high resolution as some recent games. Like the last NextGen game I played the animation did feel a little choppy and seemed as if it could benefit from a few extra frames particularly during the reel spinning animations, but it wasn't quite as slow and jumpy as "Gorilla Go Wild" was. There's a random "Psycho Wilds" feature that can activate after any spin and is signified by a knife animation which is definitely reminiscent of the film. It is perhaps only a small touch but you do get the impression that NextGen have put a fair amount of effort into creating a game that captures what the horror genre is all about.

Most important of all with any on-line slot is of course the WINS! and thankfully Psycho does not disappoint in this area either. A large chunk of the games RTP is tied up in the free spins feature where combinations containing a wild can be boosted with a multiplier anywhere from 2x all the way up to a maximum of 40x! It does feel a little as if the higher multipliers are intentionally offered much more often for smaller 3 and 4 of a kind combinations, although that could just be a result of the obvious fact that five of a kinds show up so much more rarely.

Psycho definitely shows that NextGen know how to pull off a film license just as well as Microgaming or NetEnt, I loved it!
