Because of this, the layout of this game resembles that of a chess board. But the elements of chess are not only reduced to the layout, since they’re also prominently present during the free spins feature. Queen of Thrones contains 5-reels, 3-rows and 30-paylines. I played this game on the minimum bet of 30 cents.

In addition, the game contains wild symbols, bonus symbols (reels 1, 3 and 5) and scatters (free spins symbol). But let’s first turn back to the base game since there is also a very interesting element in place there. On the second row of reel 3 there is a spot called “The Throne”. Every time a Queen (black or white) appears there, it starts to move and capture all spots of the opposing color in her immediate vicinity.

This often leads to the Queen turning 3-5 symbols wild. The best payout in this game is 2500 coins (5 wilds). I know not so great, but this game still is extremely amusing. Most I’ve won during base game was around 10 euros after the Queen did her work.

The bonus game I was talking about can be activated if you get bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. The Big Capture Bonus then takes you to a chess board with question marks, you can have five picks but if you pick the right ones you can have additional picks if you’re lucky.

Each pick can reveal a prize or an X when you win nothing.I managed to win 21 euros (70x bet) one time after picking the best pieces each time. That’s better than most Bonus Games I know. Finally we also have the free spins feature which gets triggered if you get 3, 4 or 5 scatters.

You then win 10, 15 or 30 free spins respectively. Before the free spins start, you automatically get assigned a color (black or white). When a chess symbol of your color appears on the Throne spot, then it can make its move according to the chess rules and turn those symbols into a wild.

Only exception is the King symbol which instead grants you 3 additional free spins. Unfortunately I had black and the symbols that landed were often white, so I didn’t profit as much as I could since nothing would happen with opposing colored symbols. I ended up winning only 5 euros.

Nevertheless, this game is one to be repeated. I like the concept and everything Queen of Thrones has to offer basically. Very innovative and an excellent piece of work by the guys from Leander Games.
