Previously I played a few other new iSoftBet slots and I was under the impression that all these novelties are not very good, in most cases the payouts are very small and wins are very rare. From time to time one can earn something extra but only with great luck.

But “Happy Birds” is a slot better than average. It has 243 ways to win and in many ways is better than the last similar Microgaming slots. The inviting graphics is doubled by a beautiful story and a game in which wins come one after another. Easily you can have here 4 or 5 of a kind (I was saying previously that this is a 243 ways to win slot) and it is also relatively easy to enter in Free Spins or Bonus Game. And even in the Bonus Game and the slot can easily give 50 Free Spins. The birds chirp, they do acrobatics passing through the colorful circles that offer 10 Free Spins, wins are frequent and all should be perfect if it were not present also a negative fact: the very low payouts. All existing symbols pay less than you pay for spin (“3 of a kind”). Even for 6 “ten” the slot pays only 20 cents (and the bet is 25 cents). How to win something extra? Well still you can. I can’t say I consider it as the best looking game I’ve ever played with but by now our situation is consolidated and I’m finding the interface as a playable one. The creators chose a strange illustrating method for some symbols but the bird characters are really awesome and have superb color decorations but the little cute winning animations are the main reason why I forced myself to get used to other disliked things here.

The slot strangely got 243 paylines to work on but I think for the theme, 9 or 15 win lines would be better fitting. Perhaps not just the theme but the paying quality of the game would also require much less paying lines because using the game and doing it with some kind of heightened expectations what the promise of 243-ways-to-win working scheme creates, the game is a poor rewarding product. I mean here not just the paying capability of winning combinations but I also have some issues with the appearing tendency of them. In my opinion, there shouldn’t be such long cold streaks at a game like this what I’ve experienced more often what I would love to see but for a €1.25 bet I have never got more back than €10-€15 from a single spin and this doesn’t show a good picture about the game settings and the paying potential of the game during normal play mode.

Unfortunately, the best colored bird symbol which works as Wild isn’t able to multiply wins and also doesn’t have own paying power and I think it also must appear more times on the reels and I also consider the bonus game which is the main extra session here isn’t a great feature. We have to collect at least 3 Scatters to have a chance at bonus but before we actually start the game we have to choose one bird which is the most sympathize with and will help us to win some. We’re carried over to a secondary screen where we have to shoot down balloons and all destroyed air vehicle reveals either instant cash prizes or multiplier values which will be used to determine the final won amount. We need to have some skill to be successful but the usual poor reward at the end most of times ruins the entertaining ability of this secondary game. The slot offers free spins feature too when we get randomly chosen number of free games (usually no more than 10 games) and there one or more symbols have a chance at every spin to be turned into Wilds giving more possibilities for winning combinations but… do I need to say what I dislike at this feature? I don’t think so.

Eventually, I think the bad paying ability really ruins the overall gaming experience at this slot and obviously this is the fault of the creators when they thought it’s enough to assign such qualities, features and rules for this product. To be honest I don’t believe this slot reaches an overall average quality level and there are many things here where the improvements are not possibilities much more they should be a part of the required process. Sadly, I don’t get anything from the game that would let me to propose this game to anyone and I think we can find games with better qualities in the repertoire of this developer which are more deserved to play with.
