So far I have not played in any game like this. I played many 3D slots that had some adjacent animation, but like this one here never before... Even now when I write this review, from time to time I peek at the figures made by these penguins. One is arranging his hair, another looks at the horizon, other is dancing and another makes some acrobatic figures. Each penguin is animated individually and makes its own gestures that are different from the others. When on the 5 reels from the left there is a win each penguin changes its gestures to distract you from the game play. Like I said, I could not follow the game play because those penguins were more attractive.
I just could notice that at the first spin I had 3 penguins (symbols) on the reels and the 5 penguin from the left plunged into the water to shake hands with the penguins from the reels. Awesome! Each has given a multiplier and a number of Free Spins. And then they all started to dance differently, one was moving back, another was applauding ... what to say, very attractive. No wonder this slot is called penguin splash: your attention is always directed from the slot to those 5 penguins sitting on the top of the iceberg.
The second fact that I noticed from the game was that almost always I had those extra 2-3 Euros, for which I was pleased. For a bet of just 25 cents I won frequently enough amounts between 5 cents and 1.5 Euros. And also from Free Spins I always won a few Euros.
This is a great slot because here, unlike other slots your attention is attracted by something else than by the slot play itself.
Of course, with a name like that the slot leads us to the frozen world and besides lot of ice on the screen we can see seals, walruses, polar bears and killer whales. Strangely, the reel area isn’t in the focal point and it’s pushed to right side while it’s also placed a little bit back as we can see ice and waters in the foreground. At first it was a bit strange for me but it’s well-designed so the overall picture is really great.
The slot uses very simple gaming elements and really only the expected features are there but thanks to the very great settings and paying ability it still can be a really good product. I fell in love this game when I had to go against WR and started to play with Penguin Splash and I was really shocked how many wins I could achieve. Almost every single spin brought at least one combination but 90 per cent of the cases if I got win I did it by more than one combo. Maybe, that simultaneous wins weren’t the highest ones but I had a precise goal and the working scheme of this slot was very fitting to do my job then.
When I have said the slot doesn’t offer too much or special features I’ve thought about the two very principal features, namely Wild and free spin add-on's. The Wild really does nothing more than to replace other symbols in a winning combination without multiplying its value or having the ability to pay by itself but I sympathize with the extra games session. After getting at least three Penguins during normal game we’re awarded 5-25 extra spins but before this segment actually starts a little cute animation determines whether the wins during free games will or will not multiplied by x2 value. That many Penguins jump to the water as the number of Penguins symbol was on the screen at triggering spin and if at least two Penguins can jump out from water and can remain on their feet on ice. It’s a real funny, little animation.
I know these game features don’t seem to be great but I think we find the answer of ‘how this slot can be so effective and rewarding’ question if we look at the paytable. We can see there the different kind of winning combinations have surprisingly great paying abilities and if someone miss the potential in this product, well, I can assure them this slot also can offer it as the main prize what we can gain by getting a 5 of kind type win by the best paying Killer Whale symbols award admirable 20.000 times of line bet prize.
My first initial session with the game went very well and it surpassed all of my expectations. Normally, I only use classic slots for wagering purposes and it was really a very rare occasion when I try a 20-payline slot for that reason but I didn’t regret it at all. I got to know a very cute and nice animal slot which could help me to achieve my goal then and gave me lot of fun and was really entertaining, so I could recommend it in a blink of an eye to those who wants to minimize the potential losses while a specific amount must be placed as bets and I believe this product won’t let down anybody. I only wish that this slot would be available at more casinos.
The beautiful graphics look amazing, but unfortunately looks often deceive. I wish I had many positive things to say about this game, but I will have to keep it limited during this review I’m afraid. Rabcat seriously needs to improve the nature of their paytables.
The way the paytables of most of their games are designed, don’t really make them much fun to play. Unless if you enjoy winning 1-3x bet all the time? That’s all it kept awarding me when I played Penguin Splash and very rarely I had a win of 10x bet.
The slot itself contains 5-reels, 3-rows and 25-paylines. The minimum bet is 25 cents, but I played it on 1.25 euro bets. Symbols are made up from a penguin (Scatter), killer whale, polar bear, seal, fish (wild) and some high value card symbols. The scenery for this slot is the Arctic of course.
The base game is quite dull unfortunately as you will have many small wins like I said before.
Games from Rabcat with such high-quality animations and graphics deserve better in my opinion. Sure, you could argue that there is a top paying symbol (killer whale) that pays 800x bet for a 5oak.
But this will rarely happen and will take maybe hundred thousand of spins or more, in my case at least as I’m not very lucky often. There is a big difference in rewards if you compare that the second and third best paying symbols. Those pay respectively 40x and 20x bet.
And even those symbols don’t drop in quite often. So basically it’s rubbish that whole paytable as you can’t really win anything. There is a free spins feature on offer though where up to 25 free spins can be won.
If you get 3 or more scatters, then the free spins feature will be triggered. Depending on how many penguins dive into the water you get awarded a certain number of free spins and a 2x multiplier. I won 5 free spins a couple times with a 2x multiplier, and never got further than 5x bet as my best score.
So yeah I certainly don’t want anything to do with these penguins any more. Other then grinding out the remainder of a bonus, I can't see why anyone should invest some money in this game.
Both are high variance games. Microgaming has a few penguin games too, but this Penguin Splash game is not from them, but is included in their games directory. The moment I load up the game, it is already apparent that it isn't a Microgaming game. The design and graphics are totally different.
This Rabcat game has a Fish as its Wild symbol, 5 of which pays nothing. Yep, nothing at all! It only substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. No wonder Microgaming took this game into their directory. Apparently, both software providers like to use dumb Wild symbols. The Penguin is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which also pays nothing. Yep, yet another blardy dumb symbol that pays nothing and does nothing, except to trigger a Free Spins game. Getting 3 or more of these Scatters trigger a Free Spins game of 5 up to 25 free spins, all without any multiplier, unless you managed to get a penguin up on the ice floe, which then doubles the subsequent free spins wins. Hmm, what a way to get a multiplier for the free spins. I don't like this at all, because most of the time, that stupid penguin doesn't make it up onto the ice, giving 5 free spins without any multiplier, even though more free spins can be retriggered. The worst Free Spins feature I have ever come across! Sheesh!
The Wilds don't pay anything. The Scatters don't pay anything. The symbols don't pay anything too. Nah, just kidding. The Whale pays 20,000x the line bet, if you can ever get them, the Polarbear pays 1000x, and the other symbols pay from 500x down to 10x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. That Whale is not going to blind me with its very high value, because I couldn't even get 3 of them on any payline. The whole paytable sucks! Without that one very high value, everything else is very low. This paytable is usually used for games that pay 243 ways, at the very least, but using this for a 25-paylines game is totally ridiculous!
If you want big wins, here you will never have them. Instead you will have many other adventures of penguins.
Extremely poor paytable, takes all the fun away. I can't enjoy a slot that doesn't pay more than 3x bet each time. This high variance game will only make a select few people happy and it isn't me!
played it mostly on minimum bets. I decided to spent around 15€ on it and I was surprised about payouts here. From base game I never won more than x5 bet. I was really surprised, because most of the time I had a winning spin, but it pays poor.
So with all those poor payouts during base game I expected that would be better into free spins. When I almost reach zero on my balance I got free spins feature. There were 10 free spins. But the payouts were the same. At the end of last free spin, I retriggered free games and I won additional 5 free spins which were doubled. It was funny, because all free spins were the same as at into base game, without any mutliplier. I expected 10 free spins at some multiplier. At the end of feature I won around x 15 bet, which is really poor.
I am sure I will not play this game again. It is a really big disappointment with all those small payouts. I think this game is only good for casinos to take your money from balance. I have to say that while I was playing it, I did not enjoy. I expected so much from this game. The only thing which is good here is graphics. All other things are bad. And this is one of the game which I would not recommend to anyone. It only takes your money and sometimes it takes really fast, without giving you something back.
It was useless most of the time! The Free Spins games tend to always award 5 free spins, but retriggers do happen on and off. The most I had was 15 free spins, with a 2x multiplier, which cannot go any higher than 2x, and the best score I could get from that 15 free spins was only 15x my bet amount! The few other Free Spins games paid a blardy ridiculous 1x to 4x my bet amount, which was totally unbelievable beyond words. The payouts in this game are extremely low!
Penguin Splash, by Rabcat, deserves a permanent place in my deep freezer. Nothing can ever make me play this game again. It is one of the most ridiculous games I have ever played or come across!
