CRITIQUE - Yet another one from the Greek mythology, «Rise of Olympus 100» released by by Play'nGO on November 10 2022 brings in three god brothers - rulers of underworld, seas and sky - to produce a somewhat tetriseque slot game that swims against the tide of the general Tumble feature infatuation.
The saga of Olympus continues with the November 10 release of Rise of Olympus 100 by Play'nGo. 100 seems to be a magic number to Play'nGo: the win multiplier can rise up to x100, and the Extra Spins can also reach 100 too. The game has 6 rows and 6 lines on a semi-transparent grid. Wins are achieved 3 or more matching matching symbols in a row, horizontally or vertically, while the same symbols may be used in different winning combinations.
Symbols are Gods: Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, each paying up to 16€ if 5 of them are collected in a row, horizontally or vertically, as well as mere symbols: Lyre, Viking battle helmet with horns, the Trident and a Lightning icon.
Play'nGo seems to swim against the tide as regards the way spins work: whereas BTG, Pragmatic Play, etc would use Tumble feature and NoLimit City do the same calling it Respin, Play'nGo does the opposite. When the prize combo lands, the winning symbols are removed and remaining symbols drop down. A win multiplier is increased for each drop. It is possible to think of this mechanics as close to that of the good old Tetris game: when some symbols drop down, a new winning combination may be formed through revealing new horizontal or vertical symbols' correspondence.
What calls for the Anti-Tumble analogy is that reels stay empty as dropped symbols disappear: they are not re-filled with new symbols. Furthermore, a win multiplier is increased for each drop, I found this feature particularly amusing, since it is not only an Increasing Multiplier on Tumble, like for example, in Serial by Nolimit City, but also a step towards a super Multiplier or Free Spins round. Moreover, if you clear the grid, you will have a 50x total multiplier applied to your resulting prize. It is called the CLEAR GRID feature. Alternatively, CLEAR GRID may grant a Free Spins game.
There are three random features in the game called by a Mighty Family of Greek Gods: Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Play'nGo calls these random features HANDS OF GOD. Each of them has their graphic mode that's fills the screen in the duration of his feature: Zeus - a God of Lightning - brings a blue sky and clouds graphics with glittering lightnings, Hades - a god of the underworld - brings fire and volcanic lava to the screen design, while Poseidon - a god of seas - has the screen turned to a sea.
