I don’t see the reason why Microgaming applied such color cavalcade to this machine and I always thought this kind of gambling product could be most powerful visually if it is placed to an elegant, simple graphical environment and Zany Zebra makes it exactly the opposite way. In my opinion using that many kind of tints was a big mistake and if someone could explain me why even the back of the reels got filled entirely with purple color, it would be a nice thing to know. The used symbols here besides the common ones like 7’s Bells and Bars is the special name giving Zebra but they have just an average illustrating quality and can’t say they could be too captivating so finally I think Microgaming made not the best with this slot and from visualization standpoint there are many things that would require to be re-considered and upgraded.

This is a traditional 3-reel, 5-payline slot and even if there are many others, very similar slots in the available to play section at this developer I think it’s better to try our luck on any of them instead of using this game because that’s badly this slot’s payout tendency. Though the numbers on the paytable are promising this game could be a well-rewarding slot if the game settings would be fair but it’s not the case here. I’ve played with Zany Zebra several times but almost every occasions brought the same results which not just I couldn’t be satisfied with but even it just really pissed me off. My most memorable – not in a good way – session was when I played 26 minutes (really I watched my clock) and everything what I won was just 2 good line filled with Single Bars and 3 mixed Bars wins and they cumulative were worth around $7.50 while the placed stakes was around $200. I get used to the cold streaks at classic slots but what I’ve experienced here is really nonsense and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a one-time thing as most of the other visiting times ended even if with not just terrible but other kind of bad results.

I think I had luck that my other issue at this game exist because without it I would have lost much more. This problem applies to the reels as every spin here takes so long time that sometimes I was really felt my bored by it and I really don’t like if my used playing style is ruined by such stupid thing like that. Normally, this working mechanism could be a reason to not return to a product but here comparing it to other problems it doesn’t seem as a serious thing.

Why am I saying the theoretical possibilities are here? Because the Jackpot of the game would be 6000 coins if 3 Zebras form a combination on the 5th payline starting diagonally from the bottom position of the first reel but the less rewarding Jackpot still can pay 1000 times of line when the animals show up on the center payline. This emblem also can substitute for others as it works as Wild, too but it’s almost a non-factor feature here because it very rare times appear to substitute.

I could name in a heartbeat at least 5 other slots with very identical working scheme but totally different, normal payout qualities and winning tendencies what really work as they should be and I still don’t understand what’s wrong with this game, why it can’t act as a fair and correct gambling partner. Sorry to say that, but based on my awful playing experiences with this slot this is an all-round terrible product and in my opinion it’s not just it doesn’t deserve to be played but it’s a sin to leave this product on the market because having a chance for everyone to play this game just a very bad decision by Microgaming and I believe it just hurt their reputation.
