Every time I increase the bet I see that the game is more willing to pay. I was not very impressed with the bonus round here. I triggered the bonus more than three times and all my wins were nothing more than 7 x bet, which is nothing. But the payouts during the base game are quite often so the game does not eat all your money at once. The bonus round is a good addition to the game, even though the payouts are nothing special, they still increase your balance from time to time. When you trigger the bonus there are 12 treasure chest and you have to choose 3, 4 or 5 of them, depending on how many chest symbols triggered the bonus in the base game. The treasure chests are in 3 rows and the first time I opened the bonus I chose 1 treasure chest in each row. The ones that are in the first row were always hiding higher amounts compared to the others.

Besides the King`s Treasure bonus there is a free spin round but I did not manage to trigger this feature. It is probably really good since all the wins are tripled during the free spins.

This slot is inspired by the Chinese martial arts. Games that are with 5 reels and 15 pay lines usually have good potential. The graphics and the sound effects are nothing special. Every time I see that there is a new release I expect to see something new but not this time and not with this game.

Indeed, “108 Heroes” is a slot released by “Microgaming” during last April, which has been inspired by a classic Chinese novel written in the 14th century called “Shui Hu Zhuan” translated as “Water Margin” to English, which in turn was based on a Taoist concept known as “108 Stars of Destiny;” in short, a game with a supremely interesting epic theme.

In my opinion, this is one of the best slots created by the company Microgaming this year, because even though prices on paytable do not look so promising, its hit average is pretty good to be a slot with 15 paylines, and this good performance, in my opinion, is due primarily to therein they have been incorporated less ordinary symbols than usual, only 8 in total, and this in theory should increase our chances of generating hits originated in the formation of lines.

Additionally, this slot has been strengthened with the inclusion of a bonus round and a round of free spins whose main quality, from my point of view, is that both features seem to be quite accessible, even sometimes during the round of 10 free spins I've got re-triggering the feature, and other times I've gotten up to 2 bonus rounds during it. To all this, we can add the fact that our winnings during this round are multiplied by 3x, which certainly increases our chances to come out on top at the end of the day.

My best prize during a bonus round totaled about 20x my total bet, that after having achieved 5 treasure chest scatters aligned on the same active payline and then clicking on 5 of the 12 chests. On the other hand, my most big win for a round of free games have been about 50x my total bet after 20 free spins.

This supplier has not exactly been one of my favorites, but I have to admit that “108 Heroes” slot exceeded my expectations, and because of ratings I've seen on several websites, it seems that not only mine; therefore, all I can do is invite you to try this game so you can draw your own conclusions.

With so many talented people all over the globe, I strongly believe they could hire innovative 'brains' which could surprise us every once in awhile.

I was curious to find out if I can find something about 108 Heroes and I believe the only possible inspiration was 108 Stars of Destiny, a Chinese classic novel by Shi Nai'an in the 14th century, which has been made into a series of role-playing video games. At least, Microgaming was the first one to come up with this unique theme with this 5-reels 15-paylines video slot. I must tell you that I do like its graphics and its symbols. Its really rare that I like the base game more then the Bonus or Free Spins features, but unlike its fantastic and exciting intro to the Bonus game, the way it plays itself left me disappointed. Fighters characters are somehow more interesting to me then just a simple 'Pick-up Bonus' feature. I like the background soundtrack way too much and it makes me feel really good and wanting to stay a bit longer than my balance would allow me. I have placed 0.45 cents bets but haven't won anything decent so far.

After 50 plus spins, I finally triggered the feature game the King's Treasure Bonus game, and I had to pick 3 chests out of the 12 shown. I totally missed the big prizes but finished the bonus round with a 2 Euro win. That's really nice. I also expected the bonus game to be multilevel, but as I previously said, it was only a 'Pick-up Bonus' game, then it was back to the base game. I didn't mind at all as I liked base game much better. I will definitely play this game again.

I had a decent balance so I thought there wasn't a better time to try it.

108 Heroes is a quite standard looking game as it has 5 reels and 15 paylines. The visual inspiration is taken by Chinese warrior theme and along with regular letters, there are also several Chinese warriors as symbols. Chinese inspired games have never really been my cup of tea as usually they have lots of bright red colors and the designs can be overwhelming. In this case I do think that design is quite decent and tasteful.

From many aspects this game technically is very similar to other Microgaming slots- there are 15 paylines, free spins bonus and a pick me bonus. I have to say that after spending one session with this game, it didn't grow on me. I spent my session by playing with minimum bets and half session with 0.45€ per spin. I had the luck to experience many bonus rounds, but truth be told, none of the features paid over 30x bet and my biggest win of 40x bet came from a 5oak combination on base game. I do think that free spins bonus is nice with 10 free spins and 3x multiplier, but because of the payline amount, I found it to be very hard to get 5oak winnings.

And while I think that the free spins have some winning potential, I really dislike the pick bonus for two reasons- first of all it's really hard to get it as you need 3 or more bonus symbols on an active payline and secondly- the payouts are low. I had this feature over 10 times and not once I had a win over 10x bet. I think that if a game has a pick bonus, it at least should have some wonderful win potential and I didn't get such feeling from 108 Heroes.

Overall I do think this an average yet decent game and I can say that I might recommend it for wagering purposes as it kept my balance steady for quite some time. But other than that I didn't think this game was exciting, I wasn't too keen on the design and theme and none of my wins were over 40x bet, so this game is definitely not for me.

The logo itself is the Wild symbol in the game, paying a good 500x total bet for getting 5 of them. It substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter and the Bonus symbols, but does not double any wins with it, nor becomes stacked or expanded. Wish it would.

The Scatter symbol pays a good 400x total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of these symbols trigger 10 free spins with all wins tripled. Only 10 free spins, even with 5 Scatters? Hmm, not good enough! However, the Free Spins game can be retriggered, but knowing how MG games have been so far, I really doubt if the retriggers would exceed 2 times. The Chest is the Bonus symbol, but it doesn't pay anything for itself, and getting 3 or more of them consecutively on any payline trigger the King's Treasure Bonus game. Pick chests out of the 12 shown to win cash prizes, up to 166x the total bet amount. This Bonus game can also be triggered during the free spins but the wins are not multiplied. As for the other symbols in the game, they pay from 33.3x to 5x the total bet for getting 5 of each kind. A good paytable from Microgaming for a change.

That really sucks! To be fair to the game, it certainly need lots of plays to get the good wins, but I don't think I'll go for it. A bad start usually signals a no-go for me, so I won't risk it.
