What does this DJ do? Play hot songs and hot music while you play and dance to the game? Nosirree! The DJ spins the reels, you play the game, whilst the game provider dance to the winnings! Theirs, not yours! Am I serious? Have I never been serious? Oops, okay, sometimes I'm not, but that's only for my joking sessions. Hehehe.

This new game from NextGen is just awesome, from my first impressions of it. The graphics are fantastic, the colours are so vibrant and lively, but the fruits are looking very 8-bitty. Yep, the fruit symbols are made to look like 8-bit graphics, but the smoothness of their shapes tells you that they aren't. Purpose? Well, maybe just to confuse you and me, maybe trying to be different, who knows, but the effects are quite stunning nonetheless. Thunderkick guys should have a serious look at this DJ Wild game and compare it with their Arcader! Maybe then they'll come up with something just as good, or even better!

DJ Wild plays just like Starburst! Aargh! By that, I mean, with 10 paylines and paying both ways. There are no stars bursting, but there are DJs bursting into Expanded Wilds or Sideway Wilds. Yep, these DJs go sideways too, for better or for worse, but I prefer them to burst up or down, in the usual ways. More effective in creating more wins. The Wilds that expand upwards or downwards are the Smoke Wilds, Fire Wilds and Confetti Wilds, each differentiated by different colours. The Wilds that go one step sideways are the Strobe Wilds and the Lazer Wilds. All these Wilds can appear only on reels 1, 2, 4 and 5. Reel 3 is reserved for the Jackpot Wild, happening only when reels 1, 2, 3 and 4 are fully covered with Wilds, thereby creating an all-Wilds win! For this, the Jackpot prize is 50,000 coins! Pretty good no? Err, I mean, yes?

Play wise is basically the same. Everytime a random DJ Wild appears on any of the reels, it either expands fully or add another Wild sideways. This Wild then becomes sticky and the other reels get a re-spin. The re-spins end when there are no more new wins created. The interesting part is that you won't know which Wild is on the reel, until you see what it does. Only one type of Wild can occur at any one time, either expanding or sideways. All subsequent re-spins will have the same type of Wilds too. The boring part is, when the Wilds don't make any wins. Aargh!

I must admit that playing DJ Wild was much more interesting that playing that lousy star bursting game, which I really hate now, but just as with that lousy counterpart game too, winning on this game can be blardy hard too! Hehehe. The paytable is low, you can't get 3 reels of Expanded Wilds as in Starburst, because the 3rd Expanded Wild reel can only come for the Jackpot win, so most of the time, the Wilds are broken up. You can still get 5-of-a-kinds no doubt, but only for a few paylines, if you're lucky enough! Still, it's a fun game to play for now, for its novelty. How long your interest can last on the game, is as good as mine.
