The most original of this game is the combination of these classical symbols with totally zen atmosphere of relaxation and meditation, something like a fusion of East and West world joined in a gambling game. The classic fruits are what we are used to see in this circle, oranges, lemons, grapes, watermelons, plums, blackberries and cherries; Zen atmosphere is given by the wallpaper, which it’s the reflection of a sunset on the horizon over the waters of a calm sea, seen from some rocks on the seashore, and supplemented with background sound that resembles a Eastern chill out track, all these arranged in just one set in such a relaxing way to think that you are going to practice some yoga while you earn some coins.

The format of this slot is 3 x 5 reels, but it is the first game developed by Betsoft I see that only has 10 paylines. The best features for me are:
- Pay lines are formed from left to right and right to left, which increases the chances of obtaining winnings.
- The Wild symbol appears only on reels 3, 4, and 5, but always it expands to the entire reel, and new formed lines are paid, as if that were not enough, it gives you one re-spin whit such wild-reel fixed. Better yet, if another wild appears on such re-spin, both will be fixed for the next re-spin with the possibility of obtaining the third wild-reel, virtually ensuring two consecutive “big wins” if this happens, one at instant and another on next re-spin.

A third special feature would be that fruits continuously appear "stacked", but this can be a double-edged sword, since it adds a degree of difficulty to the formation of a line, but on the other hand tends to increase profits if it made, and the effect becomes more noticeable when these symbols interact with stacked wild reels.

I have to confess that at first with this game, instead of relaxing, I was stressing out, and it was because things seemed to get out fine, but after going down to $ 50 and maintaining bets at minimum, I decided to try increasing my bets very slowly, one coin every few turns, and after a while, I had already won three big wins additional to standard wins, ending with a $ 105 profit on my initial balance. I think it is helpful to first learn the game before you start betting with real money, and thus, certainly, it will be a much more enjoyable experience for all players. In my view, this is not the best game from Betsoft, but I can add it to my list of favorite fruits’ games.

“Zen” is the description given by the Japanese people to a state of meditation that brings complete inner peace. The word originated in the Indian meditation and the Buddhist teachings and practices.

With the classic fruit symbols (cherries, lemons, melons, plums, etc.) in the background of the slot is unveiled an ocean whose waves bring complete interior peace to the player. The proper symbiosis between the actual slot and the moving ocean in the background is perfect and as I said, it is like one of the perfect scenes taken from Solaris. The naturalness of fruits is so deep that one can see the sun rise over the ocean showed in the glow of cherries or lemons. All is perfect to induce a state of Zen.

When a special “Fruit Zen” symbol appears on reels the whole column is filled with flowers and becomes wild. After the wins are counted, also a free respin occurs. There can be up to 3 simultaneously Wild columns. This is the only “feature” given by this slot but it is enough. For its only 10 lines, wins are counted in both line directions and all fruits are stacked here. Moreover, although I did not found a paytable, from playing the game I did realize that it is enough to have a single reel Wild for a total payout of about 100 coins (with a bet of only 10 coins).

The game is playing in the good tradition of BetSoft, namely you first gain a few extra Euros and then the balance remains at this level throughout at least 100-200 spins. I have a screenshot here, when after just the first 5 spins I had 2 complete lines of “5 raspberry” and so I got a “Big Win”.

The slot is inviting for inner peace that it brings to the player and for its shine in certain moments of the game.

Maybe this is not exactly what I would assign to a fruit slot but somehow they work together very well and really make a comprehensive deep impression. The graphics are very fluent, crystal clear and high quality so what we get here in visualization is really respectable and gorgeous.

When I said fruit slot, it just applied to the used symbols like cherry, melon, orange, lemon, grape because this is a 5-reel, 10 payline slot where the most important info is that the winning combinations are paying both ways so we can achieve wins starting from the rightmost reel. Perhaps this explains a little the seemingly very poor payouts for example the best paying line win with Oranges is only worth 250 times of line bet, which automatically means an x500 win because the both-way feature. The slot only add-on is the Wild which appears only on the 3 middle reels in expanded format and though it can’t multiply the wins but at least every Wild on the reels give a re-spin and make possible to another Wild or winning combinations to be completed.

Despite the limited Wild function, the hiatus of free spin or bonus features and the not too player friendly paying abilities this slot very surprisingly can be rewarding and playing the game I can’t really feel all of these shortcomings. I still think the game would be almost perfect if the numbers on the paytable were doubled or tripled but in this format how the game is working now, it is still a good product.

There are no real long cold streaks and because of the ‘both-way’ quality lot of simultaneous winning combinations occurs. I usually play this slot with just €1 bet but not once happened when my sessions were finished and I was surprised by how much credits I won and how my balance increased during that times. Without real big line win at a spin there were times when it was really shocking looking at my bankroll numbers and saw that in total I won €70, €90 or even more but later when I thought about it I had to realize that there were so many smaller wins (I mean here around €4-€10) and yes if they come in large number it’s not impossible to do some little miracles.

It’s doubtless the slot’s lack of the ability to bring big potential to the table can be deterrent for some players but believe me this slot really deserve to play it and I believe some players should also be surprised how they can get satisfied with the game and sometimes the final results too.So only I’ve got to say about this slot is just positive things and I can safely say this product became my No.1 target if I’m around a place where this slot is available to play. It’s some sort of classic slot without symbols such as bells, sevens and stars. The symbols completely consist of fruit symbols such as oranges, raspberries, melons, cherries etc. The symbols do appear stacked though and this makes it possible to have a full screen of the same symbol.

In addition, there is also the Fruit Zen logo symbol which acts as a wild and can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Every time this symbols appears, the reel in question turns completely wild and subsequently you get a free re-spin. It basically works the same as the stars from NetEnt’s Starburst.

I hardly saw them appear though in the short time that I played this game. The ultimate goal of course is having all three appear around the same time to have a full payout if the reels on reel 1 and 5 align well, while you can also profit from the free re-spin.

Fruit Zen contains 5-reels, 3-rows and 10-paylines. The minimum bet is 20 cents if the minimum coin value is set on 2 cents. Not sure if they differ for each casino when it comes to Betsoft games, but 7Red often used to have 2 cent minimum coin value.

I played this game on 1 euro bets though and I didn’t enjoy it one bit. There was a lack of action on the reels and the background music is dull and boring. I never came further than winning a tenner. There are better options available if you’re looking for a classic slot format.

I would recommend Yggdrasil Gaming’s Jokerizer slot instead, which has better payouts and more elements to win big.

e fruit Zen is the wild symbol on this game, but what I noticed, you won’t see much of that wild during your playtime. The wild or the Fruit Zen only appears on the second, third and forth reel, which once in a million years you may noticed it, or it can lend on some of those 3 reels, as for catching 2 or 3 of them, never gonna happened, or you might be extremely lucky to trigger more than one wild.

I am not impressed, actually I didn't like this slot at all, the winnings from it are really hilarious, so my opinion if you want to lose your money quickly, then I suggest to play this slot. Very boring game, which doesn't offers, neither bonus round or free spins, but still there are few slots which don’t offer any bonus round but still excellent slots to play, just because their payout is extra ordinary.

It’s not that I didn’t play it, I did, several times, given as a free spins offer, form few casinos, but not only once I had some decent win. The theme of this game is fruits, there are lemon, cherry and other fruits as symbols, so I believe that the name fits this game good. I really am not a fan of this slot because from my experience I think it has low payouts and isn't very interesting. There are no bonus rounds, no free spins and the only exciting thing there is wild symbol, which is the name of the slot. Wilds appear on 2nd, 3rd and 4th reel and when appear, they will expand and complete the reel and give one respin.

Even though there are only10 paylines, as one of Betsoft games, it has minimum coin size 0.02€ per spin and that makes the minimum bet 0.20€ per spin. Usually I play this game with some free spins or no deposit bonus, but recently I made a 30€ deposit in a Betsoft powered casino to try this game more seriously. I played with minimum bets and I made more than 500 spins and what surprised me, after that my balance hadn't changed much, even went up for a few euros. I experienced mostly 10x bet winnings, but they came up very often and my lowest balance was 25€, but then went up again. Since the wilds come up on certain reels, it is possible to get all 3 reels wild, my biggest winning was from 2 wild reels and 6€ win in total. When there were no wild symbols on the screen, the fruitskind of reminded me of Novomatic slots.

Overall I think this is a decent slot game and visually Betsoft has done a good jobthere because the graphics are clear and good. Yep, the only game from BetSoft that I really enjoy playing over and over again - Fruit Zen. Ah yes, an identical game with Starburst, no doubt, but of two different themes. I've seen a lot of those stars giving birth to twins on my screen, sometimes even triplets, but almost all the time, they are just useless. I've played a lot of times on Fruit Zen too, most times fruitless, a number of times getting some nice fruits and occasionally getting super baskets of fruits!

So, why is Starburst much more popular than Fruit Zen? Very simple. Almost every casino that has Starburst gives out free spins on it. How many casinos do you know have the game Fruit Zen? Only a handful! Well, BetSoft marketing policies are never as exuberant as NetEnt's, so their games tend to follow behind the leaders, even if theirs are arguably slightly better. I have played thousands of spins on Starburst, but with a huge net loss so far. I have played much less spins on Fruit Zen, but I'm on the winning side! How's that for comparison? Just luck? Nope! Just how the two different games are designed, programmed and played!

Starburst, for example, can go for over 60 spins many times without giving any starbursting feature. Fruit Zen, on the other hand, usually doesn't exceed 50 spins! Double bursting features are more common in Fruit Zen too than in Starburst, and so are the triple bursting ones too! Nowadays, I would hunt for the game Fruit Zen at casinos that I haven't signed up at yet. I would kick out Starburst if I have a choice, but I don't, because Starburst have not given me any wins even after numerous plays on it, but I could make small wins on Fruit Zen after just a few attempts. Yes, it is that different, but most players do not even bother to really compare the two games. That's human nature after all, tending to stick to the first one they like, or love, as in 'my first love', but in gambling, this is never the right way to keep on playing! I played Fruit Zen and the magic happened today, when I got 4 times such delicious big wins. I was super happy and felt like it was happening for real. I couldn’t take any screenshot but I have no doubt that my Zen will come again to me one fine day and I’ll make that winning screenshot like Afis!

Fruit Zen is a good example of a Starburst clone. Instead of gems they replaced it as you can see, with fruits. Not just fruit though, these ones are clean and shiny. It has 10 paylines, expanding wild symbol and pays both ways. The only difference is Fruit Zen has a minimum denom of 2 cents, so it's not cheaper than Starburst.

To be honest, I won't make a deposit just to play this game. Just like Starburst, this game became dull after a few minutes of playing. It's simply because beside expanding wild symbol and re-spins feature it doesn't have nothing more interesting. To stick to a game long time, I need some exciting cut scenes, free spins mode and random bonus feature.

About a month ago, a great casino named BetChan offered me two massive free spins bonuses with a total of 200 free spins without any deposit required. Those free spins are for 2 games and one of them was Fruit Zen. Fruit Zes free spins has a worth of €20 in total and I managed to win 2/3 of the total worth amount.
