I am sorry to say this but here for about 400 spins this is the way I have played this game: I had 4 rounds of Free Spins from which I won 12 Euro, 7 Euro, 22 Euro and 42 Euro and between these rounds I just lost money. Only because in the last 10 spins played I got a last round of Free Spins (with 20 spins and 2x multiplier) and because this round was retriggered 2 times (playing a total of 60 Free Spins from which I won 41.94 Euro), brought me into advantage with about 34 Euro at the end. If I have not had this chance, after the last round of the initial 20 Free Spins I still would had a few Euros less than the starting amount.
The theme of the slot is probably the famous ship having the same name “HMS Sovereign of the Seas”, a warship built by the British Empire in 1673. The original ship had 55 guns, was 39 meters length and had 1500 tons displacement and a crew of 800 people. Later in this century this name was borrowed by an equally famous line cruiser (I gathered these data from some Wiki articles written in German, and Italian).
During the game play this ship is Wild here, and when it can make another winning combination it expands over the entire reel (2, 3 or 4). The payouts are not great and for a bet of 50 cents only “5 of a kind majors” pay 1-2.5 Euro. From here come the losses that keep increasing during normal spins. The only luck you have is the round of Free Spins that is offered quite regularly, but if you play more than 100 spins without entering into Free Spins, the loss exceeds 15 Euro.
The game itself is not too spectacular, the only thrill moments are when the Wilds extend, but even then you do not win too much. Compared with the other slots with 30+ lines this is a slot barely average, maybe having a nice story, but unfortunately it lacks big emotions.
A good-looking slot machine, 3 x 5 reels, 40 paylines, bet levels between 1 and 5 coins and coin value between $ 0.01 and $ 1 to choose.
In this game are incorporated two very attractive special features, expandable wild reels and free spin rounds. Whenever the wild symbol, represented by the image of a winged woman with crown, appears, throughout the reel becomes wild and serves as substitute for standard symbols; this symbol appears only on reels 2, 3, and 4 and is not at all unusual to have two wild reels simultaneously.
Interesting features mentioned above are not enough to avoid me from discarding the inclusion of "Sovereign of the Seven Seas" on my personal list of favorite slots, and there are several reasons for this decision, poor pay table, extreme difficulty to obtain free spins, low hit during the free spins round and a low average earnings during the base game because a vast majority of hits corresponds to lines formed with the 6 symbols with letters and numbers and this would not be such a problem if it were not because their payouts for 4 of a kind, taking as a reference level, ranging between ¼ and 2 times the total bet, which is a fairly small value compared with slots similar features. With regard to my free spin round, I waited for more than 250 spins to get my first round, and I got 10 spins with 4x multiplier and I only could make a 3 of number 9 kind hit during the last free game, it was not worth the wait.
Leaving aside the economics from this slot machine, I could say this is a pretty fun game, but due to its low sustainability, think I'll pass this game to continue the search for better slots.
Graphics wise, both are very similar, with the same acceptable good quality. The two games are the same, only the images have changed. Let's see if the payouts are the same too.
The Queen is the Wild symbol in the game, appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4, does not pay anything for itself, does not double any wins with it, substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol, but expands into a full Wild Reel with any winning combinations. Well, this is at least better than the no-Wild in the other game of In It To Win It. The Cannon is the Scatter symbol, also paying 100x the total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of these Scatters trigger the Free Spins game. Pick one of the 3 Barrels to reveal the number of free spins and the multiplier, to win either 10 free spins with a 4x multiplier, 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier, or 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier. Same style as in the other game but with 1 less choice - the 25 free spins award is missing. Yes, the Free Spins game can be retriggered, and this is an improvement over In It To Win It. As for the other symbols in the game, they pay from 6.25x down to 1x the total bet for getting 5 of each kind. This paytable is even lower than the other game, making it an extremely low paytable for a 40 paylines game.
The game has no thrill and its play is almost linear and predictable. Moreover, when you win, you never win too much extra (maybe only in very special and rare conditions).
I hate having to repeat myself all over again, but what happened to me with In It To Win It, repeated itself with this game. Argh! Playing with $0.40 bets per spin, I could reach up to 200 spins before losing all of my deposit money, with the same no-Free-Spins-game result. I didn't even bother to try this game in the fun mode after my first ever play and loss, because I can expect the same blardy better-game-play as with the other game. Same games, same provider, same totally disappointing game play. In it and out of it, for ever!
