Now this is different, I enjoyed more than 200 spins and the animation of the game was flawless. The music and action of the slot are intertwined. The story behind the slot is that of pirate corsairs from the old sailing ships. With a minimum bet per line slightly higher than the usual (5 cents/line), that is 1.5 Euro in total, this means that I have gambled here over 300 Euro. And I must say I was pleased. I managed at some point to have an extra income of some 40 Euro and finally the total loss was not bigger than 10% of the total amount played (i.e. about 30 Euro lost).

To describe the game itself, I need to say that actually there is a Wild symbol here (actually an extended Wild) that comes with the 3 pirates on the reels, just once about 50 spins (on the AskGamblers page it is specified that there is no Wild). There are 3 different Bonus games, one in which you drink along with the crew men and you need to resist drinking , the second where the corsairs captain must defeat the pirate in a sword battle to save the girl, and a third bonus where the captain flying over the slots with a rope, collects 3 “pick me” symbols each for a payout . In all Bonus games the winnings are nice.

The 5 Free Spins are a little harder to enter (they are triggered by 3 colorful parrots) and unfortunately, unlike in the Bonus games the wins are pretty slim.

However, with a deposit of only 20-30 Euros if you play without bonuses from the casino, you have all chances to make a withdrawal because almost certainly will win here.

When I played it I had once the dashing sawyer click me feature. From this feature I won 5 credits – which was 5€ on min bet of 0.30€. I think this is ok, but I expected a little higher winnings around 10€ at least. Well this was not the only feature which I got. During main game I received at least three times wild reel feature/mode. When feature starts, the reel 3 become wild and you get one respin. From this feature I never had any big winning more than x10 bet. To be honest I do not like it very much, because of all animations before the reels spin. This really bothered me, because this feature slowing down the game.

Otherwise Barbary Coast is good slot machine. But this is not my favorite slot from Betsoft software company. I never had any big win on it and this is also the reason why I will not play it again in future. I rather play other games where I had better luck than at this one. I will rate it with 6 out of 10 possible stars here.

But that is about all that I can say good of BetSoft, because most of their games are not worth playing at all! Not if you are looking for good big wins, that is. It appears only on reel 3, expands into a Wild Reel, sticking for the next spin only and then it's gone, and doesn't double any wins either. It substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter and Bonus symbols. Well, that's almost as good as not having any Wild symbol at all!

The Parrot is the Scatter symbol, and getting 3 or more of the Parrot pays some credits and triggers the Free Spins game. How much it pays, or how many free spins, are not even indicated in the paytable. What the argh! The Free Spins game cannot be retriggered, and no Bonus games can be triggered during the free spins either. How more worse can this be? Ben Sawyer is the Bonus symbol, another dumb one, and getting 3 or more of him anywhere on the reels trigger a 'Pick Me' feature game. Pick all the icons to win cash prizes. Captain Blackbeard is yet another dumb Bonus symbol, and getting 3 or more of him on any active payline triggers the Fight Bonus game to rescue the beautiful Maiden. Pick 3 moves to start the fight and win a cash reward for rescuing the Maiden.

Wait, there's one more Bonus symbol, Grog, dumb as expected, and getting 3 or more of him on any active payline triggers the Grog Challenge feature game. Flip the coin to see who gets to drink the drink and win a cash reward at the end of it. As for the other symbols, the Maiden pays a damn low 100x, the Skull pays 80x, the Chest pays 50x, and the rest pay from 40x to 10x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. An extremely low paytable, probably the lowest I have ever seen in any paytable, and definitely one of the worst!

As I said, on older computers this slot is too slow due to its extremely intensive animation. Also the auto-spin button is occasionally necessary. If you do not know when to stop playing because of the large bet the losses can become significant.
