Now with this slot “Draglings” Yggdrasil brought one of the best slots on the market. The eggs have different colors and shapes and almost from all of them are hatching dragons. Everywhere it sounds the “grrrr..” of the small dragons. Some small dragons have already hatched, and when they do not participate to the game play (when they are not Wilds) they sleep on an egg. Other dragons throw flames over other eggs and turn them into other Wilds. Even from time to time one dragon grows faster than the others and expands into an entire reel. The story and the pleasure of playing here are so great that the makers of the slot have allowed themselves this time to reduce the payouts (and thus the total wins). Here there are no more those tens of Euros won from a single spin, and even with luck more than 5 Euro you will not win even when the entire screen fills with all possible dragons (Wilds). However this is an Yggdrasil slot and is not a miserly slot.

Because the story is so beautiful slot (although I have not won here as playing the other Yggdrasil slots) I will give this slot a mark of 9.

There are three type of wilds. The blue wild dinosaur is a standard wild, the purple wild is an expanding wild and covers the whole reel when it appears and finally there is also red spreading wild that can turn up to 4 symbols into a wild symbol (standard, expanding or spreading wild).

These symbols appear very often, but what bothers me is the low payouts on this game. It’s pretty hard to win decent money while playing draglings. I played this game on 20 cent bets and I must admit that during base game the wins were very small. I never won more than 6-7 euros in a couple hundred spins.

You’d really need the red eggs and a 5oak to hit it good. The wilds do offer the potential to cover all reels though for a 30,000 coin jackpot. This would be easier to do in free spins mode. If you get 3, 4 or 5 free spins symbol during base game you get awarded respectively 10, 20 or 75 free spins.

During free spins 2 of those symbols add another 2 spins while more symbols can re-trigger the feature to add additional free spins. What I liked about the free spins is that the wild symbols appear even more frequently.

I often had a good combination thanks to the spreading wild turning multiple symbols into expanding wilds. It’s a fun game but the payouts remain the only point of criticism. My best win was around 20 euros (100x bet), but it really takes a lot in order for that to happen.

I really admire the crystal clear symbols and little animations and even though the used symbols may be seem for some players a little bit one-schemed as most of them illustrate dragon’s eggs but the different kind of colours, shapes and contours make them very nice looking and for me attractive pictograms and the dragons characters also show top-notch pictorial works. Especially if we consider though the slot is supposed to be a 20-payline slot but because it allows the winning combinations to be completed not just the traditional left-to-right mode but starting from the other direction too so actually we must play with and pay for 40-paylines per spin. Despite of this fact (what it means, there’s increased chance for getting more simultaneous wins at the same spin and because we place bets on 20+20 paylines, a 5 of a kind win automatically counted as 2 5 of a kind win, one starting from left and the other one from right) so the best line win has got quite good rewarding ability as it is 700 times of line bet and all other winning combinations are also decent in moneywise standpoint.

To boost our winnings the slot offers several ways for example using 3 different Wilds. The Blue, Red and Purple baby Dragons are all Wild and the Blue one works as traditional substituting symbol while Red has the ability to turn other symbols (1-4) on the table into Wilds (and it’s great the transformed symbol can be any kind of Wild) and the Purple Dragon becomes Expanding Wild. I consider Draglings a very well paying slot and really like the big wins what this game could provide at times.
