I've won several times on that game some years ago, mostly with 5-of-a-kind wins, one or twice with a hole-in-one big win too. Yes, that game is a golf-themed game, but an exciting one, despite its 5 paylines. I wish I could say the same with this Microgaming 5-paylines game, but it fails miserably in almost all aspects!
The Lady is the Wild symbol. It substitutes for all symbols, but it doesn't pay for itself, it doesn't double any wins with it, it doesn't become stacked or expanded, it is simply a very dumb Wild symbol! Yeah, Microgaming's favourite trademark, if I may say so! There aren't any Scatters, so no Free Spins games, there aren't any Bonus symbols, so no Bonus games, and there aren't any other features, so it becomes a very boring game! The logo 'Oriental Fortune' is the highest paying symbol, 5 of which pays 5000x the line bet, the Lion pays 3000x, the Dragon pays 2000x, the Fish pays 700x, and the lower symbols pay from 600x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. Should I rate this paytable as average or low? Hmm. Whichever! Makes no difference to the game itself.
I tried this game because I think that this kind of slots can pay really well, but I was so wrong.
This is 5 reels and only 5 pay lines video slot game. The theme is the mysterious Far East. I checked the pay table before I made a deposit and it was solid. But you know what they say, if it is good on paper it does not mean that it is good in practice. This slot is very simple because it does not offer free spins or bonus round. At times I see this as an advantage, because you are not distracted by anything else and you can concentrate on the base game only. But at some other times you desperately need the free games. Especially when your balance is sinking like it was the case with me. I had some wins for 5 of a kind wins but most of the time I was getting the week card symbols. That was not helping me at all. This is a fast moving slot so you do not see the symbols until they land on the reels. So, I did not see the girl which is the wild throughout my session. She really can substitute for any other symbol, but it was always on the fifth reel, so it was not contributing at all. The highest paying symbol is the latter and it is worth 5000 x bet if you manage to land 5 on an active pay line. That is the wholly grail in games like this one. But again, I did not manage to land not even 3 on an active pay line during my session.
It actually looks good right? Yeah, but at what price to pay?! Those wins aren't ever easy to get. Not with just 5 paylines.
Will I ever play this game again? Not on your life! One lost deposit is all I'm willing to sacrifice for a game like this.
