As with all Elk slots, it looks lovely. Nobody can deny the work that these guys put in to the presentation side of things. As usual they have done something a little different with the bonus game, so it's free spins but with an Elk twist. I enjoy playing the Elk games because they offer a change from the norm but the same old issues are still apparent......

I think my last pirate slot I played was Ghost Pirates from Netent, but that game never game me anything big wins, however I have seen better days wild seas.

The graphics of this slot is one of the best I have seen from Elk Studios, sounds I still need to test, to see if the music matches the slot, since my games are most times on mute, especially when playing while on the job lol. Symbols on the reels include gold skull coins, silver star coins, bronze octopus coins, rogue captains (blue, green and red) as well as the ship's captain who is the lady pirate. You also have the 2 wild seas flag which replaces all symbols and lands on reels 2 and 4 and trigger free spins.

Level 1 (Break the Convoy), look out for the 2 wild seas flag anywhere on reels 2 and 4 simultaneously as this will trigger the free spins feature. 1 of the merchant captains on the reels is randomly selected as the opponent and replaces all other captains during the feature. A convey of merchant wild ships cover reel 5, the convoy sails 1 step to the left on each free spin. If a pirate ships appears on reel 5, it fires cannons at any ship on the same row, the merchant ship will then be damaged and holds it back for 1 free spin. This will create wilds on different positions in the reels creating more bigger wins.

If you get 3 hits on a ship, it will sink and reveal the captain’s loot chest. You would want to get as many loot chests as possible before the next level commences. If you don’t manage to sink a ship, the feature ends.

If you reach level 2 which is, loot the treasures. You will then get free sticky wild symbols on all locations held by captain’s loot chests. Your aim is to keep getting as many sticky wild chests as possible to collect the combined treasures.

The 3 middle reels are filled with treasure chests, if you hit these, they will open and give you sticky wilds. They are bomb barrels on the 1st reel which are filled with gunpower, if lands on the reels, the barrel explodes and ends the feature. With more looted treasure chests and more pirate ships added to reel 5, you can get plenty of sticky wild wins and that is where you will win your treasure!

. The majority of the high-paying symbols seem to be there just for show, because you will rarely hit any of them. Expect most "wins" to be the usual bronze, silver or gold coins low value wins. When you finally get into the bonus game, you will be lucky if 1/10 pays a big win and by big I mean 40/1+.

As with all other Elk games, Wild Seas offers you a break from the mundane and if wagering a bonus, it's probably not a bad choice to assist you in that respect. However don't expect to win a life-changing sum of money.

I hope these guys do ok, because they are certainly putting a lot of effort into their games but they need to wake up from a payout aspect, especially as we are now seeing non-progressive games from other providers that have the potential for huge wins.
