Why? Because their games tend to have low paytables and low payouts. As far as I know, none of BetSoft games can produce wins of 1000x total bet or more.
This 7th Heaven game looks very appealing at first glance. It has nice vibrant colours and large oversized symbols, although I personally think they are a tad too oversized - the symbols appear too close to one another. The Wild symbol only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4, doubles only wins with the '7' symbols and expands into a full Wild Reel. The Scatter symbol only appears on reels 3, 4 and 5, and awards 7 - 12 free spins, determined by a spin on the Wheel. A Blue Gem is the Bonus symbol, appearing only on reels 1, 2 and 3, to award a Gem Party Bonus game of 7 free spins with only special Gem symbols in play. However, all Wild, Scatter and Bonus symbols are non-paying, so that sucks!
The three '7' top symbols come in Red, Blue and Green colours, paying 1000x, 750x and 500x the line bet for each 5-of-a-kind win, whilst the other symbols pay from 300x down to 50x the line bet for 5 of each kind. Both the Free Spins and the Bonus Free Spins games cannot be retriggered, which further reduces any chance of getting better wins. Generally, for a 18-paylines game, all these simply aren't good enough to produce any good wins, making the paytable a very low one, which is also typical of BetSoft paytables.
I have played this 7th Heaven game only a few times over the years, not really interested in the game due to its poor paytable and poor payout potentials, and trying to get any win of 50x total bet or more was hard enough. Nonetheless, playing the game for the first few times could be quite fun and entertaining, but don't expect to get any good wins from it. For the fun of it, it is okay. For winning from it, forget it! Hehehe.
Somehow the entire screen, the design remind me of Microgaming working style and maybe it’s no coincidence because they have some similar slots but Microgaming’s versions represent better, higher overall quality. It’s especially true to the graphics quality which is not too good here. The symbols are not worked out and detailed and they look like if they had gone through some blurring process which I think was a mistake because the entire reel area looks as an unsharp mask would have applied to it. Though I don’t really like what I get here visually but this is not my biggest problem with the game.
This 18-payline slot is really terrible in giving out noticeable winning combinations. I really thought only the real classic slots can turn into unbelievable long losing streaks but this game also could prove me that I’m wrong and a multi-line product also can run into unacceptable cold streaks. Of course it doesn’t mean that we don’t win anything but when I’m playing a game about 25-30 minutes and the most it can give back is no more than five-eight times of my total stake at a single spin, while no feature is triggered (and it not just once happened), well, that’s really abysmal.
It must be something with the game settings because even if the game qualities and conditions are not too good but only this can’t be an explanation for such unproductive working scheme. The best paying symbol during the normal game mode only rewards us with 1000 times of line bet if it forms a 5 of a kind winning combination and if it’s mixed with at least one Wild this award is promptly x2000. The highest paying 7’s icons already pay back if just one of them appears on the first reel (naturally we achieve more simultaneous wins with the same symbol) and other 3 emblems possess the ability to reward us if just two of them appear on the leftmost reels.
The Wild is a very interesting symbol and I don’t mean hear that it doubles the wins or it appears only on the three inner reels (though while the reels are spinning the symbol is visible on the first and last reels too but I have never seen any of them to land on that reels) and even not thinking of the ability of the Wild to be expanding Wild on the second, third or fourth reels but surprisingly it substitutes only for 7’s characters excluding all other symbols, which really doesn’t help at all to get a 5 of a kind win with non-7 symbols.
On the other hand the 2 different free spin features wouldn’t be bad at all if they would be triggered way more times. Getting 3 special icons on the last three reels at the same time activate the bonus where at first we have to spin a wheel where numbers are listed from 7-12 and represent the 4 suit types and the number where the spinner stops at determines how many free spins we won. The suit where the spinner stopped on will act as a special bonus icon during free spins meaning every chosen suit which appear there instantly add an amount equal to total bet. At the rare occasions where I could play with this bonus it showed me it’s a very good feature and here we really can achieve some profits what we can’t do during base game. The other feature the game offers called Gem Party and it requires three Gems on the first three reels to be triggered and then 12 free games are played where all symbols are gems (no Wild) and it uses a very different paytable where the top paying line win is worth 1500 times of line bet.
Overall, this is a very strange game where we can meet some unseen attributes from which some are very useful and great but others are bad and incomprehensible but for me the working system and the experienced winning habits really make the game almost unplayable. Sometimes I noticed while playing the game I was pissed off the game more times than what it caused in enjoyable or entertaining moments and even if I still think this game could be at least an average product but not until it possesses such awful game settings as it has now but at this moment this is a bad game and personally I don’t really like it.
